Master Degree[M.Sc.] "New Age Professionalism"

Biotechnology, Microbiology, Botany, Zoology & Chemistry

Our courses are blend of branches of knowledge like basic biology, biotechnology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Computational Biology and Bioinformatics. It helps together, analyse and represent biological information to understand life process. It merges molecular biology and genetics with advance computer science technology. With this technology it is possible to understand the complex web of interactions linking the individual components of a living cell  to the  integerated behaviour of the entire organization. Our professional course Biotechnology and Microbiology are both an engineering art and science. It is concerned with the application of Mathematics, Physics, Genetics, Chemistry and Information Technology to solve biological problems. It is becoming increasingly important due to the interest of the pharmaceutical industries and research organization in genome sequencing and designing life saving drugs.

There is a vital need to harness this information for medical, diagnostics and therapeutic uses. The other opportunities includes food and drug industries, textile industry and in every sphere of life.

EFLS does not restrict academics to university curriculum only. It believes in including latest and advanced topics to supplement the curriculum and transform the student into comprehensive professional to promote professionalism in college. EFLS  has an excellent library facility having the latest books  on all subjects with their CD's.  The courses designed  at EFLS played pivotal role in various genome projects and will continue to shape exciting developments in emerging fields or functional genomics, proteomics and system biology, as applied to exploratory research as well as drug discovery. Analytical and research skills acquired from the rigors of the course will be useful for many challenging careers in and outside life sciences.

Graduate Degree[B.Sc.] "Innovative Courses "

Biotechnology, Microbiology,  Biochemistry, Biology & Pathology

The  unique feature of innovative courses of life sciences are its inter disciplinary multi faculty approach, with  integeration of basic sciences with applied sciences. Life Sciences professionals will have career prospects in all sectors of biotechnology, microbiology, pharmaceutical, biomedical sciences, environmental sciences, as well as agriculture and industrial application. They also have prospects in research institution, academic institution, hospital and industries.

With the backdrop of good demand for the life science professionals , it is easier for our students to get a job in its field of specialisation after the completion of courses..

Technology for  Laboratory ProfileLife

All the courses being technical in nature are well supported with an ultra modern lab staffed with faculties having wide research   experience. The R&D lab at EFLS is equipped with most    sophisticated instruments required for conducting   projects ,research works, practical related to Microbiology, Biotechnology, Immunology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, r-DNA technology, Pathology etc.

The lab also invites contract assignments (in research) and renowned scientists from various industrial sectors for research projects in Environment ,Microbiology ,Immunology ,Tissue culture technology ,Molecular Biology etc.The lab is open to students & NGO's for project work & summer training

The Lab fulfills the requirement for the basic foundation in technical training. Some of the facilities are :

Culture Rooms: with laminar air flow benches: Industrial Pattern with large capacity sitting.

UV / Visible Spectrophotometer: For biochemical analysis and estimation of bio molecules. High range from visible to UV with 5 samples testing at a time. The Instrument is attached to PC with Software programme.

Refrigerated Centrifuge: For processing and isolation of nucleic acid & cell components. The instrument has a high range of 20,000 rpm under refrigerated condition.

Inverted Microscope: For studies related to cell culture and immunology .The microscope has a magnification of 10x,45x,100x.

BOD Incubator: For environmental studies and mycological testings. With temperature range 0-50  with cooler & blower.

Chromatographic Systems: For isolation and identifications of different proteins lipids etc. Using paper, beads & gel.

Electrophoresis Systems: Used in isolation identification and separation of proteins and nucleic acids. It also has applications in rDNA technology. The instrument is both vertical & Horizontal.

The lab also has other basic equipmental infrastructure such as pH meters, Spectrophotometer, Hot Air Ovens, Autoclaves, Micro pipettes etc.
